He passed away peacefully at his home in Spokane on March 18, 2007. Raised in Spokane through the 7th grade, he then moved to Kennewick where he worked on a dairy farm through high school. In August of 1941 he enlisted in the US Army Air Force and served as an aircraft mechanic in Africa a and Italy during WWII, reaching the rank of staff sergeant before his discharge in September of 1945. After college at the University of Washington and Spokane Community College, he worked at Kaiser Aluminum for almost 30 years as an Electrician and Electronic Repairman. Throughout their 58 years of marriage, Al and his wife Marion enjoyed many wonderful Motorhome trips throughout the United States.

He loved reading, fishing at Priest Lake, and taking videos of their adventures. An adventurous and "take charge" kind of guy, Al was still riding his dirt bike until the age of 80, at which time Marion convinced him it was time to slow down a bit and stick to their Jeep for off-road adventure! AI is survived by his wife Marion, brothers Forrest Clark and Bob Clark, daughters Yvonne Howard (husband Randy), and Joyce Chapman (husband Steve), son Alan Gull (wife Debbie); seven Grandchildren, and eight Greatgrandchildren. The Spokesman-Review 013 OBITUARIES 013 ALLEN, Louise Bisch 1915-2007 On March 23, Louise Allen completed her final journey to heaven. Louise was born in Oak Creek, Colorado on September 11, 1915, to Raymond and Bertha Bisch. Growing up under the shadow of Pikes Peak she developed a life long love of animals especially her horse Chiquito. After graduating from Wayne State University she taught elementary school in the Detroit area for 23 years. Louise was a faithful servant in her churches and a devoted volunteer in many organizations.

She is survived by her beloved children, who were the love of her life; Dave Allen, Lou Blemaster (Norman), John Allen (Susie), Kathleen Bayn (Gregory) and her cherished grandchildren, Kimberly Thomsen (Kim) Robert Lemaster, Stephanie Peterson (Dominic), Tiffany Marandas (Jason) and Eric Allen and great grandchildren; Nicholas and Alexandrea Peterson, Christian and Anna Thomsen and Avalon Marandas. He was born on April 4, 1920 to William and Anabell Craig in Sheridan, WY. After graduating from Sheridan High School, he moved to San Diego where he worked at a defense plant making airplane parts. Clarence moved back to Sheridan after the war where he met his wife-to-be, Bettie Jean. They later married in Hardin, MT. He worked as a male nurse at Fort Mackenzie Veteran's Hospital.

In 1949, they moved to Spokane where he became Dock Foreman at the Spokesman-Review, working there for 30 years until his retirement in 1982. His family was very important to him. They loved planning and taking yearly car trips. It didn't matter how simple the event, they were just happy doing it together. In his younger years, Clarence enjoyed taking and developing his own photographs, target shooting and archery with his wife and fishing with his two daughters.

He was quietly good at everything he did and earned the respect and admiration of all who knew or worked with him. He was a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa. He will be missed so much. Clarence is preceded in death by his parents, brother Jimmy Craig and son-inlaw, Gary Owsley. He is survived by his wife of 61years, Betty Jean Craig, two daughters and son-in-law, Noralee Owsley and Peggy and Wesley Schelin, granddaughters, Rachel and Kelsey Schelin, sister-in-law, Nancy Reynolds, all of Spokane; sister Dorothy Martinson, Moscow, ID; and several nieces and nephews.

Died on March 18th, 2007 in Irvine, California Keith was raised both in the Cheney area on the family ranch and in Southern California.

After attending WSU, he returned to the Los Angeles area to develop his career. In 1990, Keith met Sophie, a young woman recently emigrated from France. Married in 1995, they traveled the world together and cultivated a beautiful 17 year relationship. Together with his previous daughter Jennifer, Keith and Sophie grew into a larger family with the arrival of Adeline, Tristan and Connor. Keith loved his family deeply and was involved in every aspect of their lives, church, school, sports, and travels.

Besides the personal commitment to his family, Keith had a successful professional life as a real estate appraiser, and graduated from the USC Marshall School of Business with an MBA in 2001. Throughout his life, Keith loved being with family and friends. While we will all miss him, his presence will forever be felt. Mr. Benge was born on November 28, 1931 in Sicily Island, LA to Thomas Lee and Berti Mae Benge. Mr. Benge proudly served his country with the Air Force for 26 years during which he served in Korean War and Vietnam.

After retirement from the armed forces, Mr. Benge, was the head of maintenance for the VA Hospital in Spokane, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Eileen Spovey Benge; brothers, Troy, James, and Wilmer "Bud" Benge; and sister, Theda Cupit. He is survived by his stepchildren, Nancy Tennant and Kim Carlson, Both of Spokane, brother and sister-in-law, Joe D. and Mary Benge of Longview; sister, Lorelle Kupice of Marietta, Winnie "Sis" Tiffee of Monterey, and Mary Nell Higgins of Sicily Island, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial guestbook may be signed at www.raderfh.com FLEISCHMAN, Wanda Christine (Shivley) Wanda Christine (Shivley) Fleischman passed away quietly on March 17, 2007 in Virginia Mason Cancer Care Unit in Seattle from complications related to the cancer she has fought valiantly for over five years. She was 49 years old. Wanda was born February 22, 1958 to Glen D. and Bernice H.

(Olson) Shivley in Spokane, Washington. The family moved to Walla Walla in the early 1960's and Wanda attended school at Prospect Point Elementary, Sharpstein I Elementary, Pioneer Junior High and she graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1976. She was part of the field trip to Japan that her graduating class made in the summer of 1975. Wanda attended Washington State University from 1976 to 1981, and roomed with her cousin Colleen Hastings until she met and married her husband Dennis Fleischman (who was from Yakima) on June 16, 1979. She majored in Civil Engineering and graduated in 1980 with her Bachelor's Degree.

Shortly after their graduation, Wanda and Dennis both accepted employment with the Boeing Company in Seattle and they moved to the Puget Sound area, living in Kent, Auburn, Redmond, and finally Maple Valley, where they have made their home for over 20 years. Wanda worked on many different projects for Boeing. Wanda greatly enjoyed gardening in her spare time, and her large yard resembled a park, with gravel walkways wandering among the flower-beds, bushes and trees. She had a small greenhouse and was active with an online gardening club, going to gardening shows and taking tours of yards and gardens both near and far. She also loved to travel and go places, and her frequent traveling companion was her cousin Colleen Hastings, who traveled with her to Alaska, Canada, Wisconsin, Michigan, and England, incorporating their love of plants and flowers into stops on their trips.

Wanda also got to travel to Hawaii, Japan, Mexico and Canada and truly enjoyed getting to see the different places. Wanda is survived by her husband Dennis, son Maxwell Gerald (age 16), daughter Kenzie Scotia (age 14), at the family home in Maple Valley; her parents Glen and Bernice Shivley of Walla Walla, WA and Waitts Lake, WA; her sister Barbara Taylor of Walla Walla, and her sister Linda (Calvin) Harris of Spokane, WA. She was also well known and loved by her multitude of nieces, nephew, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Her neighbors and co-workers will also miss her sweet lilting voice, and her positive personality. We will be having a "Celebration of Life" Potluck Picnic on June 30, 2007 at the picnic shelter in Franklin Park from 12:00 to 4:00 pm.

The family moved to the Spokane area in 1964. Vicki enjoyed sewing and decorating cakes. She worked at the Valley Bowl as a cook for many years, and later for Tim's Landscape Materials. Troubled by several medical conditions for a number of years, she was taken home to be with her Savior Jesus, on January 22, 2007.

Vicki was preceded in death by her father Harold Fellbaum, and her husband Dexter Bunting. She is survived by her mother, Pam Floberg, of Spokane; her brothers Darrold Floberg and Steven Floberg of Spokane; two sons Jevon Kelly Bunting of Spokane and Michael Robert Bunting of Spokane; several grandchildren; aunts, cousins, nephews, and nieces. She will be loved and missed by all. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 31st, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3606 S.

Shafer Spokane Valley, WA, with a potluck following. CARR, Verna (Age 68) Verna passed away March 21, 2007, at home after courageous battle with cancer. She was born January 19, 1939 in Hamilton Montana. She Graduated from Central Valley High School in 1957. Married Joel Carr in September 1958.

Graduated from Deaconess School of Nursing, later earned her BA at Whitworth College. Was employed for 20 years at Valley General Hospital until she opened her own Massage Therapist business. Verna is survived by her husband, Joel Carr; brothers, Norman, Donald and Walter; sisters, Florence Newell, Margaret Rasmussen and Eleanor Holmes; and numerous nieces and nephews; and her many friends. Memorials may be sent to Hospice of Spokane. Neptune Society entrusted with her Cremation a memorial service will be held later.

DAVIS, Fara D. (Age 77) Services were held Friday, March 23, 2007, at Grace Community Church, at 2.00 2:00 P.M. for Fara D. Davis, who passed away March 19, 2007. Pastor Rick Hale will officiate with burial at South Park Cemetery.

Fara was born on April 19; 1929 in Oroville, Washington to Alice and David Lonie. Both parents preceded in her death as well as all 10 of her brothers and sisters. Fara and Rodger Davis were married on July 31, 1946 in Newport, Washington. Fara lived in Roswell for 10 years, moving from Edmonds, Washington, where she spent most of her life as a homemaker. She worked 20 years at Fredrick and Nelson.

She was active as a PTA president and Girl Scout leader. Her devotion to God led her to be involved in many church activities. Her survivors include: her husband, Rodger Davis of the family home, and her daughters; Kathy Smith and husband Steve of Roswell; Barbara Neukirch and husband Dave, of Everett, Washington; Sally Jo Davis of Ramah, New Mexico and Judy Davis of Roswell. She also leaves behind four grandchildren: Cheri Cisneros and husband Phil of Washington; Kenneth Smith and Krissy of Roswell; Barbara Smith-Duer a and husband David of Roswell; Stephanie Gross of Roswell, and eight great grandchildren: Skylar, Makenzie, Kannen, Alazay, Shanel, Matt, Andrew and Ava. She will be greatly missed by all.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Mark; her three children Marjorie and husband John of Olympia, WA, Wayne and wife Lolita of Juneau, AK, Richard and wife Kathleen of Spokane, WA; five grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. Esther is also survived by three brothers, Frank of SeaTac, WA, Harold of SeaTac, and Victor of Spokane. A sister, Kathryn and a brother Raymond, preceded her in death.

Esther, a lifelong resident of Spokane, was the eldest child of Ben and Vesta Alexander Hansen. Ben had emigrated from Norway and Vesta was the daughter of Spokane Pioneers. She and Mark traveled widely including Africa, South America and Norway, often accompanying their son Wayne and his wife Lolita. Other trips were Work and Witness teams of the Nazarene church. Esther and Mark were members of the Pasadena Park Nazarene Church.

Esther was the consummate family member. Her family were her friends. Esther and Mark hosted many backyard picnics for family celebrations or as times to visit with family who had "come home" to visit. She was also a knitter and chrochet-er. She tried to cover the world in afghans.

Her last few years were consumed by failing health. But we will remember and miss the generous, energetic woman who gave countless days of transition care to nieces and nephews, who made and gave away many jars of jam and who liked the feel and colors of yarn. 013 OBITUARIES 013 OBITUARIES BROWNING, Betty J. "Pat" (Age 78) Entered into rest March 9, 2007 in Spokane, WA. She was born August 8, 1928 in Spokane, WA to Christian and Elizabeth Fisher. She leaves her husband Robert T. Browning and four sons Robert, Dee, Todd and Guy and their families including eleven grandchildren.

Pat spent her early years in the Davenport area where she learned about farm life and developed a lifelong work ethic. She loved to garden especially flowers. She would become involved in any and all projects around the home including several roof jobs. She was heard to say often "the job is only as good as the supervisor." Pat was always soft spoken, thoughtful and giving. She was always willing to voice her opinions on issues including politics.

She had a good sense of humor. She was a woman of strong faith and a love for Israel. During the past several years she made four trips to Israel, Egypt, Jordan and Petra. She will be missed by all who had the good fortune to know her. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at 1 p.m.

Government Way "Community Owned" (509) 838-8900 FAUBUS, Carreen Faye February 1, 1948 March 4, 2007 After a long courageous battle with cancer Carreen Faye Faubus quietly passed away at home in the arms of her adoring husband on Sunday, March 4, 2007 in Fall City, WA. She was 59.

Carreen grew up in Spokane, WA where she met and married the love of her life, Edward Darth Faubus, on August 12, 1967. They went on to raise two children and live an amazing life full of travel and adventure. Careen loved people and truly enjoyed getting involved. She was a 24-year member of the Emblem Club, board member of the Eager Outers Travel Club and the President of the Evergreen Chapter of Clan MacMillan. After retiring in 2001 from a 35-year career in banking, Careen enjoyed reading, watching her soap operas, travel, wine making, spending time with her family and all things Scottish.

Careen was known for her grace, courage, integrity and an overall zest for life. She loved, she laughed, she danced and she sang with complete abandon. She looked at life from the wonder-filled eyes of a child and enjoyed every minute to fullest. She was one of a kind, and we are all the better for having known her. She's missed tremendously, but her warm and embracing spirit will live with us forever.

Careen was preceded in death by her beloved father Warren Hartung in April of 2003 due to cancer. She is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Edward Darth Faubus; her mother and stepfather Helen and Floyd Geiger of Spokane, WA; sisters Fabbian (and Anthony) Detweiller of Arroyo Grande, CA and Joyce Sanks of Walla Walla, WA; her daughters, Sheila (and Don) Barnett of Snoqualmie, WA and Kymm Moore of Snohomish, WA; and her grandsons, Michael and Kevin Barnett and Alec, Derek and Ryan Moore. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1996. He is survived by his stepson Richard (Darlene) Robinson; grandsons Rick (Bobbie) Robinson, Larry (Jamie) Robinson, Billy Robinson, and granddaughter Kelli (Don) Jay; great grandsons Brandon Jay and Michael Robinson and his brother Doran (Diane) May and several nieces and nephews.
