What to bring on a Royal Caribbean cruise
Royal Caribbean International app
Want your Royal Caribbean cruise to go smoothly? Royal Caribbean International Cruise Lines app on your phone. You can check in for departure in advance, so you’ll be ready to depart on the day you board. Simply fill in the required details, upload a photo, link your credit card, choose your boarding time and you’ll be seamlessly onboard in minutes.
Once onboard and connected to the ship’s Wi-Fi, you can also view the daily activity schedule and meal times. Send a message to your fellow cruisers. Book meals, shore excursions, and shows. View onboard bill.
Even better, the app is stored on your phone, so it won’t take up any extra space in your luggage.
Tote bag or small backpack
Whether you’re planning on spending the day out in port or wandering around the ship looking for the next activity, it’s helpful to have a bag to carry things like sunscreen, a book, and your phone.
Considering how big Royal Caribbean ships are, it’s nice to have a bag so you don’t have to run back and forth from cabin to cabin to retrieve something you forgot. The largest Oasis-class ships measure approximately 400 meters from bow to stern.

Appropriate clothing for the activity
Royal Caribbean is known for innovative attractions you’ll never see on a cruise ship. These include a merry-go-round, skydiving simulator, and bumper cars. If you plan on participating in any of these activities, make sure you dress for success.
For example, closed-toed shoes are required for the ship’s zipline, and socks are required for the climbing shoes you must wear when scaling the ship’s rock climbing wall. If you want to lace up your ice skates in Studio B, please bring long pants and socks. Studio B is an ice rink installed on many ships.
If you’re a woman preparing to try out the FlowRider surf simulator, it’s a good idea to pack a one-piece swimsuit or sports attire. (According to the crew, people wearing bikinis have about a 50% chance of losing their top if they fall into the spray.)
branded straps and luggage tags
That’s a fact. Many cruisers have a lanyard around their neck to hold their cruise key card. (The card also serves as your onboard charge card and onboard ID, so be careful not to lose it.) Whether you’re looking for fashion or functionality, we offer a variety of styles and colors to meet your needs. You can find it.
But perhaps nothing is more appropriate for a Royal Caribbean voyage than a branded strap emblazoned with the cruise line’s logo. Show your sailors your royal loyalty by exploring custom crown and anchor options on Etsy.
Another great way to show off your Royal Caribbean pride is by adding a logoed luggage tag to your bag. Both are appropriate and functional.
Drinks and reusable water bottles
If you want to save money on drinks on your next voyage, note that you can bring two bottles of wine or sparkling wine per cabin. There’s a $15 corkage fee per bottle if you enjoy drinks outside your room, but even with a drinks package, it’s still cheaper than buying wine onboard.
Royal Caribbean also allows passengers to bring up to 12 cans, bottles, or cartons of non-alcoholic beverages on board.
When you purchase a drinks package, you’ll receive a specially branded travel tumbler for your onboard soda machine. If you don’t want to buy a package, consider packing a reusable water bottle or travel mug that you can refill with your favorite beverage.
electronic accessories
No one ever unplugs while on a cruise anymore. In fact, bringing a variety of technology accessories can enhance your cruise.
Start with a non-surge protected power strip to increase the number of outlets available for charging electronic devices on board (those with surge protection will be confiscated). These are especially useful on older ships, which often lack charging outlets and USB ports.
Do you want to take candid photos on the beach at Royal Caribbean’s private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay? Or do you want to capture the perfect family photo with the sunset on the pool deck? Waterproof phone case, selfie stick, or Throw your gimbaled GoPro in your bag.
comfortable clothes
In response to changing customer tastes, Royal Caribbean has significantly relaxed its dress code. This means that during the day, beachwear (poolside) and resort casual clothing are the norm. At night, passengers can be seen wearing everything from jeans and T-shirts and sports jerseys to ball gowns and tuxedos, although the latter is becoming increasingly rare.
In fact, on our last week-long cruise with Royal Caribbean, we had one formal night and one “dress to impress” night, neither of which were required.
In that vein, pack comfortable clothing appropriate for the climate you’re visiting (such as wrinkle-resistant pants and dresses or shirts made from a cotton-polyester blend that won’t wrinkle and can be folded very thin). Please think about it). Quick-drying fabrics are a great choice for hot and humid destinations like the Caribbean and Bahamas.
antacid
Between Johnny Rockets’ burgers, fries, and onion rings. Sorrento pizza is greasy but delicious. You can enjoy complimentary Mexican food at El Loco Fresh, but you may experience indigestion or heartburn after eating the comfort food on a Royal Caribbean ship.
To prevent potential discomfort, keep a small bottle of antacid in your toiletry kit.
flowrider board
One of the most iconic features on Royal Caribbean’s many ships is FlowRider, a free surfing simulator that allows passengers to experience boogie boarding and surfing.
Experienced surfers may be seen bringing their own boards onto the ship when boarding. He’s tried the FlowRider before, and if you have your own board, why not make it part of your packing list?
theme party outfits
Royal Caribbean is well known in the cruise industry for their themed parties. We have everything from 70’s and his 80’s nights to Caribbean and cowboy themed ones. There are also club experiences called White Night and Red, and you can dress accordingly.
Unfortunately, Royal Caribbean doesn’t have a list of themed nights before sailing, so if you want to be prepared, pack a little something for each.
