What's up, everybody welcome to bowler XCOM I'm here inside classic lanes, where today, I'm actually gonna, give you a little bit of a tip.

This is more of a beginner tip for those who like to go open bowling.

You don't really Bowl leagues a whole lot, but you want to learn how to curve the ball, and even if you don't have your own bowling ball, you can still do that.

The house balls do curve and I'm gonna show you how stay tuned hi.

Welcome back I've got a typical house ball here now these things aren't made out of like a reactive material, that you would see some of the professionals or some of the really good bowlers or League bowlers in town you're, not gonna, see them using a ball like this more times than not you'll see I'm using one of the higher-end reactive bowling balls.

But if you don't want to spend any money on getting yourself a nice brand new bowling ball, that's going to be built to do those things.

Why not learn to get a little bit better at the game and curve the ball a little bit or hook the ball for the people who like to see use the word or the term hook, we're gonna teach you how to do it properly with your hand, to make sure you can compete with your friends the next time you go out and go play roll in a little bit and I say play bowling because most people look at it as playing you're playing a game.

You're playing a sport is playing here or you're going bowling, whichever one you want to call it.

So we're gonna.

Take a look at one of these house balls here.

It's just a 10-pound ball.

If you watch me throw it, this ball will actually curve a whole lot.

I won't even put in a full approach, but I'm gonna throw it and it will still curve all the way through the lane.

So the big room are that the house walls won't curve.

Like some of these other balls, that's just not true! You can make these balls curved.

Just gotta have the right technique, so we're gonna.

Take this and I'm gonna show you what the right technique is.

There's gonna be a couple steps to this.

That I'm gonna show you and the first step is gonna, be probably what most people already do.

Most people can probably just walk up there, looking down the lane or looking at the pins and they're just trying to throw it right down the middle.

Just like that yeah most people are trying to just do that: they're just trying to go from hand forward just trying to get the ball to go right down the middle.

They just want to knock down as many pins as possible.

A cool thing and the way to knock down more pins is actually make the ball hook or make the ball curve.

Whichever way you want to call it so we're gonna show you how to do that.

So, since you can throw the ball straight, all I'm going to do now is if we zoom in on my hand or zoom in on this area, where my bowl, where the ball is, when you let go of the ball.

Normally you let go the ball just like this right.

So my fingers are directly behind it.

My thumb is up over here on top and then the ball comes off my hand.

This way, what we want to do is we want to figure out how to get it, to where my hand, rotates and the ball rolls off my hand and spins okay.

So all I want you to do is think about when you're sitting here I want you to think about putting your fingers this way and then throwing the ball from there.

So if I do it here, it's not much, but you can see it rotate to the side a little bit once you get that understanding and that feeling of the ball rotating off the side.

It's literally spinning off the side, then you can make some adjustments to make it happen more and make it happen faster.

It's just like, if you take a basketball in your hand and if you just throw it up in the air, it's gonna come down, it's gonna hit and it's gonna bounce straight back up, but if you throw it up in the air and you spin, it off your hand.

It's gonna come up, it's gonna hit the ground and it's gonna spin and it's gonna take off going one direction or the other, depending on which way you spun it.

It's kind of the same thing here so even though there's oil on the lane, we still want to be able to create some spin, because eventually the material of the bowling ball is going to hit some dry spots and hit some friction on the lane, and it's gonna make it start to rotate or move okay.

So now that we've got that first step, we went from throwing it straight.

So now we get our hand over here.

No we're gonna do is we're just gonna try to get our fingers to be more under it a little bit when we throw it okay.

So, instead of being here and here, I want you to be here and here, okay, so we're just going to rotate a little bit so now, when I do that it rotates even more and I'm not doing anything, fancy I'm, just letting it come off my hand right at that spot and the ball just rotates and spins off my hand.

That way.

So it's really about where your direction of your hand is at the release of the ball.

Now, if you really want to overdo it, which I don't recommend doing this but I'm sure you're gonna do it anyway, because everybody likes to try and make it spin as much as possible, as you can then really try to get your hand to rotate through and get the ball to do whatever you want, spend it more I, don't recommend getting your hand all the way up here.

What I would think about if I'm releasing the ball is just try to keep your palm towards the ceiling.

So in order to do that, I'm gonna have to cut my wrist and keep it from the ball up this way.

On top of my hand, and then rotate this way and have my palm staying up when rotating cuz, if I go down and I get my palm towards the crown, it's gonna give me that really bad spin, that's not gonna knock down pins as easy, there's a whole bunch of physics and technicalities that go into why certain ball rolls not now depends a little bit more.

But what I'm, showing you with keeping your palm up? That's the more the better technique or one of the better techniques.

That's gonna! Get you to knock down more pens and learning to curve.

The ball is gonna, make it to where you're having more fun.

Now the last thing I can show you if, for some reason, you can't figure out how to do it.

With your thumb, take your thumb out.

Most people they'll go up there and they'll.

Just they'll put their fingers in the ball like this here.

They'll just lay the palm on the ball, with their thumb out and they'll do the same thing and then they'll just mint it, and you can really create a lot of spin that way, because if I were to go into detail about how this all works, it's actually about how fast your thumb gets out, and then your fingers rotate the ball.

So if your thumbs, not even in the ball, it's a whole lot easier to spin.

It I, don't recommend this for everybody, but if you're just trying to go out and have some fun and you want to learn how to curve the ball, that's one way to absolutely do it to make it easier to get you a little bit grip a little bit of leverage, so you can spin the ball just how you want so I hope.

This helps hope.

This helps a lot of people go, have a little bit more fun bowling.

Maybe learn a little bit of technique on this and, if you're looking to gain some technique, if you're a beginning league ball or anything, make sure to hit us up, we got some options for coaching available as well.
