A Guide To The Beaches Of Muravera And A Vacation In Sardinia
Muravera is a village in the south of Sardinia that is a gorgeous coastal gem boasting an ancient history and some of the best beaches throughout all of Italy. With a tourism season (largely dictated by when it is warm enough for most visitors to brave dipping a toe in the sea) that stretches from the area’s beloved citrus festival in April to the beginning of Autumn as the cooler winter months approach, there are plenty of opportunities to plan a perfect getaway in this glorious part of the world. And, if you’re merely coming for the lovely landscapes, excellent hiking, and smaller tourist crowds, then you could readily book a villa in Muravera even outside this period. However, if you have chosen to book a vacation in Sardinia for her famously brilliant beaches then you really will find yourself spoiled for choice if you come to this part of the island. While Sardinia, as a whole, has lots of great beaches to choose from, the area in and around Muravera is home to some of the most picturesque strands that you could ask for, all picked out in stunning jewel tones. The Costa Rei, a 10km long stretch of beaches and resorts near Muravera that boasts a range of both free and private beaches, is a particularly spectacular part of this coastline and boasts strikingly clear waters and perfect white sandy beaches. So, pack your swimsuit and grab a towel and then come spend glorious days strolling along the beach, splashing in the water, snorkelling and getting the most out of those crystal-clear seas, making memories with your friends and/or family or even your beloved pet, taking incredible photos, bird-watching, and much more besides at the incredible beaches of Muravera on your next holiday in Sardinia!

Are You Brave Enough To Try Casu Marzu?
It's not as though it is difficult to find reasons to go on holidays to Sardinia. The landscape, culture, history and cuisine speak for themselves. However, some dishes shout louder than others. Casu Marzu is a traditional cheese from the island which has become notorious and well-known outside of Italy in recent years. The cheese was featured on the show, “Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern”. Made for the American television channel, The Travel Channel, the show introduced foods from around the world that might be perceived as bizarre, exotic or disgusting to an American audience. It became known internationally for the fact that it contained live larvae and the fact that the taste is so strong, it remains for several hours. This piqued the interest of foodies and the adventurous all over the globe. If you want to brave it yourself, or merely soak up the less dramatic aspects of Sardinian culture, find a luxury villa in Sardinia and enjoy this idyllic island.

Bastion Di Saint Remy: Cagliari's Architectural Gem
The island of Sardinia is a part of Italy but also has its own rather distinct culture, history, and charm. For those who love Italy and Mediterranean getaways but who are looking for something just a little bit different, it is the perfect destination: a luxury villa in Sardinia will ensure a holiday experience boasting the strong culinary traditions (don't try ordering a pizza in a restaurant before 7pm), incredible natural beauty, ancient ruins, Spanish remnants and influences, and the endless list of things to see and do on the island.
The Sardinian capital of Cagliari, equally, is uniquely distinct and lovely. Home to around 155,000 inhabitants, Cagliari is a university town and an ancient archiepiscopal district that is divided into four quarters: Castello, Stampace, Marina and Villanova. The historic core of the city is the district of Castello, which is one of the most picturesque Old Towns in all of Italy and the kind of place where one should aim to get a little lost in order to have a proper wander and to soak up the unique atmosphere of the place. If you're taking the time to really see Cagliari then you really should come to explore the wider avenues and winding little roads, the pretty little squares framed by colourful houses, the lines of washing strung between buildings, the medieval gates and historic buildings, and the views out over the harbour in this picturesquely ancient part of the city.
